IDT Announces the Addition of William L. Widmaier as Chief Marketing Officer

February 11, 2007 - Internet Defense Technology (IDT) announced today that William L. Widmaier has joined the company as its Chief Marketing Officer. He will also be on the company’s Board of Directors.

“I’m extremely excited that we were able to add William to the team” said Ron Edison, Founder, Chairman and CTO for the company. “He’s one of those marketing talents you hear people talk about and wish you had on your side, and now we do!”

Widmaier’s background has been heavy in the Internet sector and is usually associated with success. He was the VP of Marketing and Market Development during Earthlink’s explosive growth, where he was credited not only with playing a major role in the company’s rapid expansion, but was also responsible for the company’s low cost of customer acquisition and popular brand development. Earthlink Founder Sky Dayton recently called Widmaier a “Marketing Guru” in an article in the Hollywood Reporter.

With William on board all that is about to change.” “I’m very excited about what Ron has built” responded Widmaier. “When Eric called me and insisted I look at what he had gotten himself involved in I saw a service that every company needed. Heck, I needed it at every company I worked at. And the elegance of the solution was such that I couldn’t resist.”

Widmaier was also President of Point Vantage, where he ran a successful multi-million dollar ecommerce company, and was Co-Founder and founding CEO of CUShopper, a company that hit #66 on the Inc. 500 in its third year. Most recently Widmaier was at Platinum Studios as President of the New Media Group, where he built the unit, executed several acquisitions, doubled the traffic and user base of the company’s main site DrunkDuck.com, and took the company to a leadership position in the online comics space.
